Kim Jong Un Makes Speech at National Meeting of Light Industrial Workers

    Pyongyang, March 18 (KCNA) -- The dear respected Kim Jong Un was present at the national meeting of light industrial workers on Monday and made an important speech.
    Kim Jong Un in his speech said that the light industrial front along with the agricultural front are the main fronts on which efforts should be focused in the drive for building an economic power and improving the people's living standard.
    He went on:
    To rapidly develop the nation's light industry is not only a worthwhile work for improving the people's material and cultural living standards but an important political work for demonstrating the advantages and vitality of the socialist system in the DPRK, consolidating the single-minded unity of the Party and people as firm as a rock and bringing earlier the revolutionary great event of national reunification.
    Kim Jong Un set forth main tasks and ways to be held fast to by the field of the light industry at present.
    He said: It is necessary to make the most effective use of the existing production potential to radically increase the production of consumer goods and push forward the modernization and scientification of the light industry and thus put it on the world's advanced level.
    The field of the light industry should keep production going at a high rate to massively produce varieties of quality consumer goods.
    The industrial establishments in the field of the light industry should wage a widespread campaign to improve the quality of consumer goods in order to produce daily necessities favored by people and ones symbolic of their units and impeccable on foreign markets.
    In order to solve the issue of raw and other materials for the light industry the units tasked to provide funds for the people's living should increase their roles for the present.
    A basic way of solving the issue is to locally produce raw and other materials.
    The chemical industry has a big role to play for locally producing those materials.
    It is very important to develop the local industry for boosting the production of consumer goods.
    The field of the light industry should regard it as an important task to put the light industry on a modern and scientific basis and dynamically push forward it at a high level.

    Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea (CPRK) released the following statement Tuesday:
    The south Korean puppet military hooligans already drafted a plan for mounting precision missile strikes at monuments praying for the immortality of leaders and praising them, symbols of the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK, in Pyongyang and other major cities in the DPRK, according to the March 25 issue of Chosun Ilbo.
    The die-hard military gangsters were reported to have worked out the "list of targets" based on precision analysis through satellite photos and others, saying that the destruction plan can have serious psychological impact on the people in the north.
    Touching on this, a person concerned of the puppet government said he knows the military has envisaged attacking statues with air-to-ground and ground-to-ground missiles.
    This thrice-cursed scheme deserves divine punishment.
    The army and people of the DPRK are pledging revenge at the puppet group which is engrossed in hideous criminal moves to dare hurt the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK.
    Traitors of the successive puppet regime all have been steeped in confrontation with fellow countrymen to the marrow of their bones. But no other confrontation maniacs were more ignorant and uncouth than the present south Korean military hooligans.

DPRK Will Show Its Will for Counteraction with Military Action: KPA Supreme Command

    Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- The Supreme Command of the Korean People's Army (KPA) issued the following statement Tuesday:
    The U.S. nuclear war racket has gone beyond the danger line and entered the phase of an actual war, defying the repeated warnings from the army and people of the DPRK.
    The U.S. let B-52 formation deployed in Anderson air force base on Guam fly into the sky above south Korea at around 08:00 on March 25. The formation staged a nuclear striking drill with simulated targets in the depth of the DPRK from around 11:50 and revealed it to the public.
    The U.S. even let the conservative media of south Korea reveal the process of the 2010 operation against Osama bin Laden. It openly said the operational plan of "south Korea-U.S. combined forces" includes targeting the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK with the use of lethal striking means and methods of the U.S. imperialist aggression forces and the south Korean puppet army.
    They blustered that the operation targeting the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK has no problem in terms of military technique, adding that they are closely monitoring all the relevant moves of the DPRK. They even made such bluff that now is the time to unfold "active north Korea policy", "not passive one".
    The present south Korean puppet authorities tried to link the Cheonan sinking case with the DPRK and shift the blame for the Yonphyong Island shelling on to the DPRK just as traitor Lee Myung Bak did. They said they plan mounting precision missile attacks on the statues of great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in different parts of the DPRK including those in Pyongyang if "local provocation" of similar nature reoccurs.
    They, unafraid of divine punishment, even said that they drafted the "list of targets" based on detailed analysis of the locations, sizes and specific features of those statues.
    All these moves clearly prove that the anti-DPRK hostile acts now under way by the U.S., south Korean puppet forces and all other followers under the pretext of the DPRK's satellite launch and the underground nuclear test have entered a reckless phase of practical implementation after going beyond the phase of threatening and blackmailing.
    The gravity of the situation lies in that such reckless moves are timed to coincide with the U.S.-masterminded resolutions on sanctions against the DPRK being carried into practice intensively through conspiracy and nexus with all hues of hostile forces.
    The KPA Supreme Command declares at home and abroad the final decision of the army and people of the DPRK as follows as regards the present prevailing situation:
    1. We will demonstrate with the practical military action the firm will of the army and people of the DPRK to take counteraction to defend the sovereignty and dignity of the supreme leadership of the country.
    There is a limit to patience.
    It is the clear conclusion drawn by us that we can never tolerate the serious situation in which the sovereignty and dignity of the supreme leadership of the country are ruthlessly trampled down and the U.S. nuclear threat and blackmail are turning into a real war.
    From this moment the KPA Supreme Command will put on the highest alert all the field artillery units including strategic rocket units and long-range artillery units which are assigned to strike bases of the U.S. imperialist aggressor troops in the U.S. mainland and on Hawaii and Guam and other operational zone in the Pacific as well as all the enemy targets in south Korea and its vicinity.
    2. We will show the present puppet authorities of south Korea, which are dancing to the tune of their master, kowtowing to his hostile policy toward the DPRK, the strongest will of the DPRK army with physical action.
    The enemies are seriously mistaken if they think they can find an opportunity for striking "basic bases" and attacking "support forces" and "commanding forces".
    They should be mindful that everything will be reduced to ashes and flames the moment the first attack is unleashed.
    It is the unshakable stand of the army and people of the DPRK that they can never allow the treacherous acts, the preceding ruler committed by pushing the inter-Korean relations to a catastrophe and blocking the way for peace and prosperity for five years, to be taken over by the present south Korean chief executive.
    3. We call upon progressive people of the world opposing war and loving peace to turn out as one in the struggle against the brigandish U.S. highhanded and arbitrary practices.
    Injustice can never become justice though it is practiced by big countries with advantageous military muscles.
    Even the resolution of the UN Security Council will become unjust one and become an international crime going against the trend of the times if it is devoid of impartiality.
    Injustice is temporary one and will die in end.
    But justice is like a flame that flares up forever.
    The KPA Supreme Command calls upon the conscience of the world to actively join the army and people of the DPRK in defending independence and justice, not blindly following the U.S. high-handed and arbitrary practices and the UNSC's "resolutions" bereft of impartiality.
    Victory is in store for the army and people of the DPRK rising up to defend the sovereignty, and progressive people of the world loving justice and peace. -0-

Kim Jong Un Guides Landing and Anti-landing Drills of KPA Units

    Pyongyang, March 25 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Marshal Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, on Monday guided the landing and anti-landing drills of KPA Large Combined Units 324 and 287 and KPA Navy Combined Unit 597.
    He issued an order for drills without any notice and finally examined the landing and anti-landing capabilities of the large combined units of the KPA Ground Force and the KPA Navy combined unit situated in the eastern sector of the front and the east coastal area.
    After receiving a report on the plan of the drills, he gave an order to start the drills.
    First the drill of striking and wiping out landing enemies in the waters took place.
    Multiple launch rocket systems opened fire all at once.
    He was greatly satisfied with the drill. He said "It was well done", adding that the units made intensive firing at the group of enemy warships after setting a correct time for firing on the basis of the full grasp of the enemy's landing plan and when the rate of destroying enemy ships was considered as the highest.
    He stressed the need to destroy the enemies in waters to the last man through strong firepower so that they might not land in the coast of the territory.
    He ordered the soldiers of the heroic KPA to display their mettle in the great war against the enemies and send all of them to the bottom of the sea as they run wild like wolves threatened with fire.
    Then the landing operation of KPA Navy Unit 597 started.
    High-speed boats charged into the coast in succession.
    Watching through field glasses combatants occupying enemy positions at a breath, he said they look highly-spirited and if it were an actual battle, the enemies would have no time to come to their senses.
    He called the women soldiers of the 3rd artillery piece of the 1st Platoon of a battery under KPA Large Combined Unit 324 who had been involved in the artillery firing at the landing enemies to come close to him. He personally designated a firepower position beside him and set a target without any notice before giving an order to destroy it.
    Upon receiving the order, members of the women's multiple rocket system rapidly took the firepower position and accurately hit the target.
    He shook their hands one by one, praising them as great soldiers and crack shots. They performed their duties well though he had set without any notice a target which was not envisaged in the drill program and assigned to them duty to destroy it, he said. He took them to his arms before having a photo taken with them.
    "How praiseworthy Korean women are and a-match-for-a-hundred members of the women's multiple rocket system can never be compared with nukes", he noted, earnestly telling them to conduct training better and launch a dynamic campaign to become one-beats- a hundred crack shots at ordinary times and hero artillery women by sending enemy warships to the bottom of the sea in the decisive battles.

DPRK Informs UNSC of Impending Danger of Nuclear War on Korean Peninsula

    Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- The Foreign Ministry of the DPRK released the following statement on Tuesday:
    The U.S. anti-DPRK hostile acts being intensified over its satellite launch for peaceful purposes have reached the eve of nuclear war.
    On Monday U.S. B-52 strategic bombers flew to the sky above south Korea by stealth again to stage a nuclear bomb dropping drill aimed at a surprise preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK.
    Their flight defying our repeated warnings clearly proves that the U.S. plan for a nuclear war has entered an uncontrollable phase of practice.
    The U.S. is making desperate efforts to seek a way out from igniting a nuclear war against the DPRK, afraid that if the DPRK with nuclear weapons achieves economic prosperity through the building of a thriving nation, its hostile policy toward the DPRK will end in failure.
    The U.S. has already cooked up two "resolutions on sanctions" through the UN Security Council in less than two months, creating a vicious cycle of escalated tension to provide an international pretext for unleashing a nuclear war under the signboard of "nuclear non-proliferation".
    Now the U.S. is mobilizing all their "three nuclear attack means" in the preparation for a nuclear war against the DPRK.
    Strategic nuclear missiles in the U.S. mainland are aiming at the DPRK and submarines with nuclear warheads are swarming to the waters off south Korea and its vicinity in the Pacific region.
    Meanwhile, the U.S. deputy secretary of Defense, who visited south Korea to finally examine the preparations for a nuclear war against the DPRK, openly said that the U.S. military attaches top priority to the second Korean war, giving green light to a nuclear war.
    Accordingly, the commander of the U.S. forces in south Korea and the south Korean military chief drafted a "joint plan to cope with local provocation". The main point of it is to start a total nuclear war involving the U.S. forces in the U.S. mainland and the Pacific region after the south Korean puppet army touches off a conflict.

    The south Korean puppets who are behaving recklessly under their master's nuclear umbrella will experience a sound by-blow of a nuclear attack when a war breaks out between the DPRK and the U.S.
    To cope with the prevailing grave situation the KPA Supreme Command made a final decision to demonstrate with a practical military action the strong will of the DPRK army and people to take a resolute counteraction and gave an order to the strike forces of justice to keep themselves on the highest alert.
    Upon authorization the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK openly informs the UN Security Council that the Korean Peninsula is now in a touch-and-go situation due to the nuclear war provocation moves of the U.S. and south Korean puppets.

Kim Jong Un Guides Drone Attack, Self-Propelled Flak Rocket Drills

    Pyongyang, March 20 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, on Wednesday guided a drill of super precision drone planes assaulting targets and a firing drill of self-propelled flak rocket destroying "enemy" cruise missile coming in attack in low altitude.
    He was greeted on the spot by commanding officers of the air and anti-air force and artillery units of the KPA.
    Kim Jong Un ordered the drills to be started after receiving a report on the exercise plan at the observation post.
    Super precision drone planes lifted off to the sky.
    After making long-range flight as planned, the planes headed toward "enemy positions" and stormed the targets, destroying them with accuracy.
    After closely watching the planes assaulting targets with a pair of binoculars, Kim Jong Un said that the planes are very fast and have high target discerning ability.
    The planes were assigned the flight route and time with the targets in south Korea in mind, Kim Jong Un said, adding with great satisfaction that they were was proved to be able to mount super precision attack on any enemy targets.
    It was followed by the drill of a self-propelled flak rocket firing at an "enemy" cruise missile that comes in attack in low altitude.
    A target disguised as Tomahawk cruise missile of the enemy appeared in the sky above the drilling ground.
    An outburst of fire with roaring blast flew toward the missile, destroying it at a single shot.
    Kim Jong Un highly estimated the performance of the self-propelled flak rocket.
    He called for further raising the performance of drone and rocket which demonstrated their might in the drills and urged the soldiers to get fully ready to mount super precision strike at any target any time.
    When the drills turn into a battle, the enemies will be made to drink a bitter cup, unable to raise their heads, in the face of retaliatory blows of the strong revolutionary Paektusan army, he said.
    He said that if the enemies, oblivious of the tremendous might of the KPA, make even the slightest movement, he will give an order to destroy not only the military installments and puppet reactionary ruling institutions in the operational theater in south Korea but the relevant facilities of countries following the U.S. war moves for invading the DPRK, and the military bases of the U.S. imperialist aggression forces in the operational theatre of the Pacific.
    He continued that time has gone when only words were made, stressing the need to destroy the enemies without mercy so that not a single man can survive to sign a document of surrender when a battle starts.
    He stressed the need to have at command the coordinates of every enemy target in the operational theater of south Korea and input them in precision drone attack means of the Korean style so that they should make point attack on any target any moment. He also set forth important tasks in making full combat preparations of the KPA as required by the prevailing situation.
    He once again called on all the service personnel of the KPA to maintain high alert posture and wait for his order for the grand advance for national reunification. He had a photo session with the soldiers.

DPRK FM Spokesman Accuses U.S. of Strategic Bomber's Sortie to Korean Peninsula

    Pyongyang, March 20 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry gave the following answer to the question put by KCNA Wednesday as regards the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces letting B-52 make sortie to the Korean Peninsula:
    The U.S. reportedly let its B-52 deployed on Guam make sortie to the Korean Peninsula on Mar. 19 in the wake of its sortie made on Mar. 8.
    U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defence Carter visited south Korea on March 18, where he was closeted with south Korean puppet Minister of Defence Kim Kwan Jin over "south Korea-U.S. joint reaction" to the DPRK's threat. There Carter said that B-52 would be involved in the U.S.-south Korea joint military drills on Mar. 19 to demonstrate the U.S. will to defend south Korea and that such sorties would continue in the future.
    It is an unpardonable provocation against the DPRK to sound out its strongest will that the U.S. is introducing a strategic nuclear strike means into the Korean Peninsula at a time when its situation is inching close to the brink of war.

Kim Jong Un Makes Speech at National Meeting of Light Industrial Workers

    Pyongyang, March 18 (KCNA) -- The dear respected Kim Jong Un was present at the national meeting of light industrial workers on Monday and made an important speech.
    Kim Jong Un in his speech said that the light industrial front along with the agricultural front are the main fronts on which efforts should be focused in the drive for building an economic power and improving the people's living standard.
    He went on:
    To rapidly develop the nation's light industry is not only a worthwhile work for improving the people's material and cultural living standards but an important political work for demonstrating the advantages and vitality of the socialist system in the DPRK, consolidating the single-minded unity of the Party and people as firm as a rock and bringing earlier the revolutionary great event of national reunification.
    Kim Jong Un set forth main tasks and ways to be held fast to by the field of the light industry at present.
    He said: It is necessary to make the most effective use of the existing production potential to radically increase the production of consumer goods and push forward the modernization and scientification of the light industry and thus put it on the world's advanced level.
    The field of the light industry should keep production going at a high rate to massively produce varieties of quality consumer goods.
    The industrial establishments in the field of the light industry should wage a widespread campaign to improve the quality of consumer goods in order to produce daily necessities favored by people and ones symbolic of their units and impeccable on foreign markets.
    In order to solve the issue of raw and other materials for the light industry the units tasked to provide funds for the people's living should increase their roles for the present.

Kim Jong Un Inspects KPA Unit 1973

    Pyongyang, March 22 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Marshal Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, inspected the command of KPA Unit 1973 honored with the title of O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment on Friday.
    He gave a pair of binoculars, an automatic rifle and a machine gun to a sub-unit directly under the unit as gifts before having a photo session with its service personnel.
    After being briefed by its commanding officers on the monument to field guidance erected for handing down to posterity the immortal exploits of leader Kim Jong Il, who visited the unit on May 23, 2003, he looked round the rooms devoted to the education in the revolutionary history and the unit's history.
    Kim Jong Un recalled that Kim Jong Il watched the unit's street battle training on November 30, 2011, the last period of his life. He looked back on the unforgettable day when he visited the drill ground, accompanying Kim Jong Il.
    He underscored the need for the unit to glorify the undying exploits of Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il with a proud victory in a great war for national reunification.
    He highly praised the unit for having always taken the lead in upholding the Songun revolutionary leadership of the Party.
    He said the Generalissimos attached importance to this unit and it is the unit he regards as the most important and the Party trusts, adding that his inspection of the unit today has a profound meaning.
    He looked round the soldiers' hall, library and a place for educating soldiers as heroes.
    Watching with keen attention photos of exemplary book readers at the library, he praised the unit for operating the library well.
    At the place for educating soldiers as heroes visited by Kim Jong Il, he was told that the unit produced 189 heroes of the Republic and labor heroes and 19 recipients of the National Reunification Prize and that it has 21 hero companies. Saying that the unit has quite a lot of heroes, he reposed deep trust in it, urging it to become a hero unit in the battle for making a breakthrough in a great war for national reunification in the future.
    At the soldiers' hall he underlined the need for the unit to fully prepare all its service personnel as those strong in idea and faith and members of a scouting party and a death-defying corps for national reunification fully equipped with the spirit of defending the socialist country by continuously paying primary attention to their political and ideological education.
    Asking about how education is conducted by O Jung Hup Political University, he clarified the issues of properly working out the education program suited to the nature of the unit, successfully building ranks of teachers and improving their qualifications.
    Soldiers of the unit who should fight in the enemy-controlled areas can creditably perform their mission only when they are fully prepared not only in military technology and physically but politically and ideologically, he noted.
    Watching a topographic relief map showing enemy-controlled areas and the operational plan of the unit at the military lecture hall, he listened to a detailed report on the unit's performance of the operational combat duties and trainings from the commander of the unit.
    Stressing the unit has an important mission to conquer the strongholds of the enemy, he said once a war breaks out, the unit should storm the heart of the enemies in a flash to strike and destroy the targeted military installations and reactionary ruling institutions of the puppet regime at a lightning speed.
    He instructed the unit to correctly set major objects of its strike and grasp all major targets.
    He underscored the need to properly work out a training program suited to the features of the unit's performance of duty and conduct training under the simulated conditions of an actual battle to prepare combatants in such a way as to enable them to operate freely in the enemy-controlled areas in case of emergency.
    Going round the sub-unit directly under the unit, he stressed the need to take good care of the living of the soldiers of the unit who would fight in the enemy-controlled areas.
    He expressed expectation and conviction that the service personnel of the unit would demonstrate the mettle of the heroic KPA in a decisive battle with the enemies and defend the dear socialist homeland as firm as an iron wall.

Kim Jong Un Guides Work in Different Fields of KPA

    Pyongyang, March 24 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Marshal Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, guided the work in different fields of the KPA on Sunday.
    He was accompanied by Choe Ryong Hae, Hyon Yong Chol, Kim Kyok Sik, Kim Kyong Ok and Ryom Chol Song.
    First he looked at musical instruments manufactured by the KPA.
    Seeing accordions, guitars, janggus, drums, pianos, etc., he let artistes to play them in order to examine their quality and heard their opinions.
    He stressed the need for the KPA to produce more quality musical instruments and send them to soldiers so that they may always spend their worthwhile days in the army full of militant optimism and joy.
    Then he watched historic relics, mementoes and models to be displayed in the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum.
    He said that photos of President Kim Il Sung during the Fatherland Liberation War were restored well.
    Watching historic relics and materials one by one including autograph letters of the President, Kim Jong Un underlined the need to ascertain them well and intensify their discovery on the principle of historicism.
    He looked at the samples of overcoats for the children of Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School.
    He asked the children in new overcoats which one they would like and if they would like better those having fur attached to the lapel of overcoats.
    When he heard with laughter the children replying they liked overcoats with turndown collars, he underscored the need to make overcoats with turndown collars with fur as desired by them before giving a task to revise the dress code.
    He said that there is nothing to spare for the children of Mangyongdae Revolutionary School, reliable heirs to the Juche revolutionary cause and backbones to steadfastly succeed to the revolution, and it is necessary to give them the best things in the world.
    Then he guided the rehearsal of "We Will Achieve a Final Victory with the Arms of Paektusan" by the Song and Dance Ensemble of the KPA.
    Put on the stage were mixed choruses "We Will Win Victory, Flying the Colours of the Supreme Commander" and "Might of Korea", dance "Our Arms" and accordion and tap dance "The Naval Port in the Evening" and mixed chorus "We Will Defend General Kim Jong Un at the Cost of Our Lives".
    After watching the rehearsal, he gave important instructions which would serve as guidelines to be held fast to by the song and dance ensemble for the creation of art works and their representation.
    Saying that the WPK has great expectation towards the KPA Song and Dance Ensemble, he expressed the belief that the officials, creators and artistes of the ensemble would pool their efforts and conduct dynamic creative and performing activities to powerfully arouse the service personnel and people to carry out the Songun revolutionary cause of the party. 

Kim Jong Un Inspects KPA Unit 1501

    Pyongyang, March 24 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Marshal Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, inspected KPA Unit 1501 on Sunday.
    He was greatly satisfied with the big successes made by the unit in the efforts to implement the on-the-spot instructions of great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.
    He watched latest combat and technical equipment contrived and manufactured by the unit by its own efforts.
    Being briefed on the performance of the equipment and their use, he was greatly pleased that the unit manufactured latest equipment badly needed for combat preparations by pooling wisdom and enthusiasm.
    After receiving an explanation about the equipment from the commander of the unit, Kim Jong Un examined them for a long while, saying with a broad smile that they look nice and they are successful products, a result of profound inquiry.
    He noted the latest equipment were manufactured in such a way to be convenient for using during battles and they looked efficient as they are fully ready to go into action and make a charge towards enemy positions, hitting targets, he said.
    He said what pleased him most was that the latest combat and technical equipment developed by the unit ensured very high mobility in combat circumstances and they became intellectual and lighter.
    He expressed satisfaction over the fact that different devices that help combat equipment fully display their efficiency in difficult circumstances were manufactured and introduced.
    He praised the officers of the unit for their enterprising work style of upholding the party's idea of pushing back the frontiers of the latest science and technology in practice.
    While learning in detail about the performance of the equipment after putting them into operation in the drill ground, he indicated superb and preeminent operational and tactical plans to wipe out the enemies at a lightning speed by use of those equipment in actual battles.
    Watching playthings for parks made by soldiers of the unit, he highly praised them for doing good things for children.
    He repeatedly praised the service personnel of the unit for having performed their duties in a responsible manner by sharply watching the moves of the enemies for aggression. He expressed expectation and belief that they would creditably perform their missions and roles as a stand-bearer and shock brigade in upholding the Songun politics of the party. 

Kim Jong Un Visits Restaurant Boat on Stocks

    Pyongyang, March 24 (KCNA) -- Marshal Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, visited restaurant boat Taedonggang being laid down by the KPA on Sunday.
    The boat is 68.98 meters in length, 26 meters in width and 820 tons in displacement. The two floor boat has several dinning and banquet halls, etc. capable of accommodating 300 persons at one time.
    Going round the exterior and interior of the boat, Kim Jong Un was greatly satisfied to learn that KPA service personnel are working hard to complete the building of the state-of-the-art restaurant boat in a brief span of time, true to the party's policy of love for the people.
    Feasting his eyes on the deck and handrails around it, he asked in detail whether guests would not have any inconvenience in enjoying scenery from the deck.
    He asked what kind of materials were used to build the deck and underlined the need to do it well so that sanitary conditions may be fully provided as the boat will operate as a restaurant.
    Going round dinning rooms, he said as the quality of structure depends on what finishing building materials are used, the boat can be successfully built only when good materials are used.
    Asking where furniture for the boat were made, he said the boat should be fitted out with high-quality furniture not only good in use but attractive.
    He underscored the need to pay great attention to air-conditioning.
    He said when completed, the boat would draw many visitors, underscoring the need to make good arrangements for its successful operation from now.
    It was the lifetime desire of leader Kim Jong Il to let people visit a modern restaurant boat on the Taedong River, pride of Pyongyang, he noted, adding the appearance of the boat cruising on the river to serve visitors would make Pyongyang more beautiful and spectacular.
    He set forth an important task to complete the building of the boat by April 15, the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung, without fail. 

Kim Jong Un Inspects Battalion under KPA Unit

    Pyongyang, March 23 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Marshal Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, inspected the second battalion under KPA Unit 1973 honored with the title of O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment on Saturday.

    After being briefed on the monument to the field guidance to the battalion by President Kim Il Sung on February 8, 1974 and by leader Kim Jong Il on April 9, 2000, he looked round the room devoted to the education in the revolutionary history.
    He said the immortal exploits of the Generalissimos would always shine along with the colors of the unit.
    At a military lecture room he received a report on the combat duty of the battalion, its readiness to go into action and training.
    After examining the combat plan with keen attention, he said that only when all the combatants know about the enemies' military targets and the puppet reactionary ruling quarters like the back of their own hands and are well informed of their features, can they storm the strongholds of the enemies in a flash and deal deadly blows at the heart of the enemies at once in case of emergency.
    As the combatants should fight in the enemy-controlled areas without any flank and rear, it is necessary to conduct effective drills on topography among them so that they may have a correct understanding of the terrain, he said, underscoring the need to prepare them as one-match-for-a-hundred fighters with marksmanship of never missing targets and strong physical bodies.
    The commanding officers should help soldiers be always aware that a war may break out after this moment and be concerned and thoughtful of whether there is any weak point in combat preparedness and whether the combatants are fully prepared to perform their duty in the enemy-controlled areas, he said.
    He underlined the need for the commanding officers to train all the combatants to be master hands and stalwart soldiers in a modern war by intensifying the drills.
    "Our Party trusts you," he noted, calling on them to demonstrate the true fighting spirit of the People's Army and its will to wipe out the enemy by striking the heart of the enemy before any others, if they greet a great revolutionary event for national reunification.
    He urged them to deal uninterrupted heavy blows at the enemies in that event, not allowing them to come to their senses, and annihilate them to the last man.
    He went round a bean store of the battalion.
    Recalling that Kim Jong Il asked about bean farming whenever he visited units, Kim Jong Un called for reaping a rich harvest in bean farming this year.
    He went round a library, and a lecture room of O Jung Hup Political University.
    At the library he underlined the need to establish the habit of revolutionary study among soldiers and raise the rate of use of books so that they may read many more books.
    He asked about the subjects of lectures given at the university and teaching staff in detail and taught ways of improving teaching to suit the psychology and characters of combatants, showing deep care for O Jung Hup Universities of the large combined units.
    He went round an education room, bed room, mess hall and other entertainment and supply service facilities of the Kim Sun Son hero company under the battalion.
    At the education room he said that the voice of the Party should always be heard in the company, cell of the People's Army and its main combat unit.
    He said in an excited tone that he feels very pleased when meeting commanding officers taking good care of soldiers whom the Party values and loves so much as he entrusted those soldiers to them and feels worth inspecting units as Supreme Commander when seeing service personnel well fed and happy.
    Then he guided the training of soldiers of the battalion.
    Watching brave soldiers in training, he was greatly satisfied to see them fully prepared in military technique and physically. He highly appreciated their success in training and set forth important tasks which would serve as guidelines for bolstering up the combat capability in every way.
    He organized and guided a pistol and automatic rifle firing drill of the battalion commanding officers without prior notice on the same day.
    He said that the combatants should acquire marksmanship of never missing targets while preparing themselves politically and ideologically and in militarily technique and physically. He taught the knack of all hits.
    He instructed the Military Science Documentary Film Studio of the Korean People's Army to produce a video dealing with varieties of shooting methods and send it to the whole army so that the Juche-oriented combat shooting methods may be coordinated.
    He was accompanied by Choe Ryong Hae, Hyon Yong Chol, Kim Kyok Sik, Hwang Pyong So and Son Chol Ju. 

DPRK Foreign Ministry Spokesman Slams UN Secretary General's Invectives Hurting Its Sovereignty

    Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK gave the following answer to a question raised by KCNA Thursday in connection with the fact that the UN secretary general has slandered the DPRK by openly pursuing the U.S. hostile policy toward it:
    UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has recently let loose a string of invectives slandering the inviolable dignity and sovereignty of the DPRK, all the while defending the U.S. hostile acts against it.
    Ban said that he was deeply concerned about the violation of the resolution of the UN Security Council, in clear reference to the DPRK's peaceful satellite launch and the nuclear test for self-defence. He also made such a coarse invective that the Korean leadership must make efforts to scrap nuclear program and improve the people's living. He even defended the U.S. nuclear war exercises against the DPRK.
    This proves that he has become so biased as to openly support the hostile forces in their moves for stifling and isolating a sovereign state, a UN member, oblivious of the elementary principle of activities as an official of the international body.
    Unbecoming his post as UN Secretary General, Ban is not yet away from his behavior of kowtowing to the U.S. as south Korean "minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade". There is outcry among public often that it is unclear whether he is a spokesman for the U.S. Department of State or south Korean "minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade".
    He should observe neutrality, impartiality and objectivity in his work, to begin with, as becoming his position.
    If Ban has even an iota of conscience as a Korean, he should not add oil to the flames, subservient to the U.S., but come to his senses and do something helpful to national unity and the peaceful reunification of the country. 

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hits Out at U.S. for Contending AA Can't Be Dissolved Unilaterally

    Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK gave the following answer to a question put by KCNA Thursday as the U.S. and the forces kowtowing to it are insisting that the Korean Armistice Agreement (AA) can not be unilaterally dissolved:
    The Supreme Command of the Korean People's Army announced that the AA will be totally ified from March 11 when the U.S. nuclear war exercises aimed to stifle the DPRK get into full swing.
    Accordingly the army and people of the DPRK turned out in an all-out action for foiling the U.S. moves aimed at a nuclear war and reunifying the country at an early date, completely unrestrained by AA.
    But the U.S. and its allies are asserting that AA was adopted with mutual agreement and can not be dissolved unilaterally. This shows a sleight of hand they have employed to use the threadbare AA for escaping the DPRK's toughest counteraction.
    Unlike other agreements, AA is not one that requires bilateral agreement to be rendered invalid from its peculiar nature and it will be naturally nullified if one side does not abide by it.
    AA has long been invalid due to the systematic scrapping of it by the U.S. and the unreasonable behavior of the UN Security Council that backed the U.S. moves for the last six decades.
    Armistice could remain though in name only because the DPRK exercised utmost self-restraint and patience.
    The U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces are now holding Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military drills to light a fuse for a nuclear war with the involvement of huge aggression troops, the biggest violation of AA and an act of scrapping it.
    Under the prevailing situation which is little different from a war in fact, the DPRK can no longer be bound to AA.
    This is a stark reality in which AA is no longer valid.
    The U.S. will have to hold full responsibility for scrapping and finally nullifying AA, in case the situation entails a catastrophic consequence on the Korean Peninsula.
